Jim Poulnott founded Diversified Automotive, Athens’ only AAA-Approved auto repair facility, in 1985, having built the shop himself at its current location on Lexington Rd. (As a sidenote, Jim is also an accomplished artist–click here to read a great Athens Banner Herald article about his sculpture.)
Jim’s son, James, pictured at left, now carries on the family business and has been running the shop for the past 17 years. Throughout its history, the Poulnott family has prided itself on providing honest, top-quality, reasonably-priced automotive repair services to its Athens customers.

So next time you’re in the shop, make sure you say hello to Dally, the friendly Golden Retriever. If he doesn’t greet you as you come in, you can probably find him asleep behind the counter at James’ feet.
